Kharpocho Fort / Skardu Fort
There are many archaeological sites found in the northern areas, in particular in Scarda, and one of them is the Fort Harpocho. It was built by Makpon Buga (1490-1515 biennium), but the history of Mughals refers to the great Ali Sherkhan Anchan (1560-1625 biennium). The fort stands on the banks of the River Indus in Skardu, and the city can be seen from the fort. The fort is illuminated at night, and it seems that the old days are coming to life. Mindoq Khar
This is a palace built by Gul Haton or Mindokom Gialmo, on hills where only the fort of Harborho could be found. The palace was named in honor of the Queen as “Mindoq Khar”, which means “Flower Palace”. The palace was destroyed by the troops of the Sikh ruler of Kashmir, Maharaja Gulab Singh, during his invasion of Skardu, in 1840 AD.
Hilal Bagh
Hilal Bagh (Crescent Garden) was located near the palace of Mindoq Khar (flower), where once there was a terrace garden with marble fountains. The royal garden stretches from Mindoq to the modern bazaar in Skardu. The palace was destroyed by large floods in the area.
Chahar Bagh
Chahar Bagh was located on the spot where the girl’s College now stands high. The aforementioned garden was built on the order of the queen, when her husband drove to Gilgit and Chitral. (The royal language was Persian, so she gave the gardens a Persian name)

Buddhist Rock
This is the only remaining Buddhist rock, with a carving on the rocks, located on the road of Satpar in Skardu. The carving of rocks and images of Buddha dates from the period of the Great Tibetan Empire, when people moved from Tibet to the modern northern territories of Pakistan. They settled here temporarily and cut out drawings of Stupy, scenes of their experiences and images of Buddha with the transcript of the language of Haroshti. There were many such Buddhist carving sculptures in the Skardu Valley. Buddha and his disciples sculptures 2000 years old. It was a place of worship for the Buddhists by the middle of the XIV century. There are Buddha scriptures about the Rocks.
Nansoq Village
The village of Nansoq is located at the famous Kharpocho Fort. It was developed into an organic village through the Aga Khan Rural Support Program (AKRSP). The village is visited by many well-known personalities, including Prince of Wales, Prince Charles and his high altitude Aga Khan.
Lakes in the city of Skardu
Kachura Lake
Lake Kachura is 32 kilometers (20 miles) from Skardu. The jeep takes two hours to get to the shimmering waters of Lake Kachura. During the spring season, the shores of the lake are decorated with bright flowers, and the trees are full of peaches, apricots and apples. The lake offers great fishing opportunities, that is, fishing trout.
Sadpara Lake
Sadpara (Satpara) lake is located 8 kilometers (5 miles), south of Skardu. It is surrounded by high mountains. The lake has an island in the middle of its clean water, which can be reached by boat. The lake is ideal for fishing, and wildlife homes that have migrated from Siberia.
Upper Kachura Lake
It is located 10 kilometers up from the main lake Kachura. This is achieved by the Jeep Road, yet the car may also be driven to this. It is a hidden lake and is suitable for boat rides.
